How I Handle Insurance

Insurance for myofascial release

Hi there. If you’re reading this article, it’s because you are curious about getting reimbursed by your insurance for my work. Specifically, you’re probably wondering whether (1) I can provide you with documentation to satisfy your insurance for reimbursement, or (2) if I can bill your insurance company directly. By the end of this article you will know exactly how I can help as well as my limits with your insurance reimbursement.

What I Can Provide You With For Reimbursement

My online booking system can send you receipts via email for any services. As part of that receipt, I can include my CMT (Certified Massage Therapist) ID number as well as my CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) ID number. Unfortunately, I can not provide you with any other information. I am not a licensed physical therapist by trade, so I can not provide you a “super bill” or any other medical codes related to treatment.  I will also not provide you with a tax id number, EIN, or any other business identification because I file as a sole proprietor. I can provide you with a receipt, my license numbers (CMT/CPT),  business name, and that’s all. If this changes I will update this article.

Can I Bill Your Insurance?

I do NOT deal with insurance companies directly, for any reason. Again, I will provide you a receipt and my certification numbers, and if you want to get reimbursed through your insurance it is entirely your responsibility. I will also not correspond back and forth on email with your legal representative.

Why You Should See Me Even If Your Insurance Won't Pay.

Even if your insurance won’t pay for my work, it’s likely in your best interest to pay out of pocket. My rate is much lower than that of a licensed Physical Therapist, and the quality of my care is excellent. You also won’t have to wait weeks to get on my schedule, or have to call around for 20 hours trying to find a Physical Therapist who does massage therapy, Myofascial Release, etc. Sometimes paying out of pocket is your best choice.

Still Want Your Insurance To Pay?

If you still want to seek quality care through your insurance, I wrote an article about all your options for getting reimbursed though your insurance. You can find it here: Myofascial Release And Insurance Coverage.
